What a warm welcome we received on January 6th at our Grand Opening party!! It was so beyond wonderful to see familiar faces make the drive over from San Marcos and new neighbors all come to celebrate this big moment for our little coffee roasting company.
Of course, I woke up that morning with a little bit of dreed.. "what if no one comes" "what if I flop in my thank you speech" "what if we are under staffed", all the things. With our free coffee tasting class beginning at 9 am I was so relieved to see people begin to pour in around 8:30. By 8:45 we had a line almost out the door and with that people brought in all the good vibes.
In this industry you have to be ready for anything at every moment. A slow morning can burst into a lunch rush, so you have to keep vigilant. We had so many things planned, like a coordinated Facebook live that turned into our photographer friend just walking around while our staff leaped into action. Or my sister that had come to support and drink coffee having to follow me around to help with set up. Luckily, everyone wanted to lend a hand.
I am so grateful for the people that believe in us and who are apart of this coffee shop family, as well as all the new connections we made that day. La Costa is one heck of a friendly neighborhood and we have felt it every day since we opened for business. Looking forward to all the friendships that will develop in the years to come.
